Listen to Pinq Radio here, Amsterdam’s authentic voice on the frequency of art and diversity.
The station was founded in 2013 and has become one of the most authentic references in the radio scene in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It was born as a youth-driven community initiative with one purpose: to break away from traditional radio models and offer a free, inclusive, and experimental space where music, local voices, and urban cultures can flourish uncensored.
The station is located in the heart of De Pijp—a multicultural neighborhood in Amsterdam—and broadcasts from a modest but soulful studio, with programming that blends sounds of Dutch hip-hop, underground jazz, local techno, reggae, R&B, world music, and much more.
Pinq Radio is run by a volunteer team of more than 80 DJs, producers, hosts, and technicians, all passionate about urban culture and cultural activism. Each show is a personal expression: from interviews with emerging artists to discussions on identity, gender, and social justice, to live sessions by local bands that would never play on a commercial stage.
Pinq Radio is also a pioneer in promoting citizen participation: anyone can apply to host a show, with no prior experience required. This open model has turned the station into a talent pool and a crucial platform for voices marginalized or invisible by mainstream media.
