Radio Basilisk

Listen here to Radio Basilisk, a true institution of radio in Switzerland, with current musical hits and those from the last 30 years.

Radio Basilisk broadcasts from Basel, hence its name, since the “Basilisk” is the mythological creature that holds the city’s coat of arms.

A bit of the station’s history

Radio Basilisk is a piece of history, as it was the first private radio station in Switzerland to receive an official license after the end of the state monopoly in 1983.

Since it began broadcasting on November 1, 1983, it has maintained its leading position in the northwest region of Switzerland (where the country borders France and Germany).

The Profile: “Echt von hier” (Truly from here)

its focus is on Adult Contemporary (AC), but with a very local touch.

The music is a well-balanced mix of current hits and classics from the last 30 years. It’s less “rock” than Virgin and less “soul” than Superfly; it’s the perfect radio station to listen to all day long.

This station broadcasts in German, specifically in the Swiss German dialect of Basel (Baslerdytsch), giving it a unique connection with the people of the city.
